Students give U of S a passing grade

The Globe and Mail has just released the results of its undergraduate student survey, which grades 53 Canadian universities.

Reflecting the opinions of more than 38,000 undergraduate students, the survey provides a letter grade to universities in a range of different categories, including quality of education, food and sports facilities.

The survey was composed of over 100 questions. A mean score for each university was calculated for each question based on the responses of students who attend that school. Universities were assigned a letter grade that matches their mean scores, out of a maximum of 5.0, for each variable.

Here is a breakdown of the results for the University of Saskatchewan. The U of S scores are followed by the highest and lowest in the medium sized school category — those with an enrolment of between 12,000 and 22,000 students.

Note that given the difference in sample size between schools, there may not be statistically significant differences separating universities that received different grades, although their mean scores differ.
