"Skater Jason" is actually "Business Owner Jason", student 712. Some student you must be when you feel the need to add a nice ", too." on the end of a perfectly fine sentence as it stood. Shitty rebuttals aside, maybe you being such a fine young person by offering your pessimistic insight could volunteer for the cause; obviously you care enough to cut down a local business owner trying to get something good off of the ground, so why not actually do something about it! Oh wait...? You're not, you're sitting at your computer telling a successful person that they should be doing more with their likely already busy schedule. What are they teaching university students these days, because with as much as you've learned I can't see you doing any good in this world. Keep trucking Jason, you'll get this park!

Well there is always the other option - and that is too simply use the Shopping Malls. Just keep skating in the malls until the there is a public cry to "get rid of" the skaters.

I would love to see to a gaggle of Saskatoon skateboarders come charging through Market Mall. My laughter would be quite boisterous, as the shoppers look on in horror.

Or even better - stop taking part in your healthy activities (skateboardering and social networking) and put all your energy into creating a damn good METH lab. That should make the powers that be re-think their position.

Oh - and Student712..........why don't you go and bla bla bla bla bla bla bla----foink.

i agree with what they said because, i dont think that people want to have to deal with skaters because people dont really like us skating anywhere but where we belong and thats kinda messed up and i think getting the word out would be the best thing to do because it will prove a lot of things to underground skaters

dont just try to get the skateboarders involved you have to take it to another level, like companies that could possibly benefit from haveing a skate park go to the malls talk to people especially security they would probably love to not have to deal with chasing skater's and bikers alike out of the underground. As this student 713 may sound like an idiot he is right because the city will not do anything till they think we need it and the only way we can accomplish that is to get enough people/ money to grab they're attention. WE NEED TO SPREAD THE WORD TO A BIGGER COMMUNITY THAT INVOLVES MORE THAN SKATER'S AND BIKERS!!!!!

What a lot of whining. If you want a skate park, do something about it -- don't whine and expect someone to do all the work and build it for you, too. Skater Jason should get together with roller derby Dorothy and form a fundraising committee. I'm sure if you talked to some media types you could get a media sponsor-backer and raise some cash.
Going to the city for backing with cash in hand is a lot more effective than asking council to do everything for you. You might even be able to get the province or the feds for some matching grants.
But first, get off your butts and do the work.

i'm a member of the saskatoon womens roller derby and i've began an informal petition to the city last month. srdl desperatly needs affordable practise rink time. we use flat track unlike the original format of banked track. although banked track would be great fun for roller skaters and skateboarders.
mine and my team's vision is to have say about an 20,000 sq.ft. area that could be partitioned off into 3-4 rinks. we can have inline , roller, skateboard times, tournaments, scrimmages, games and public skates as well as public lessons. we hope to get an a$w on board to open a car hop restaurant replica. this would also be a great facility to open up wide for the show n' shines and bike /car shows alike. the irish dance communtyi can also use a wide open space with dividers for it's many national, international and provincial feis competitions. a huge parking area and as well an outdoor skating park for the summer. this facility could be rented out for dances etc. it would be licensed as well, like our beautiful soccer centre facilities. just a dreaM.. but lets DARE IT!
